Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

After having a Portabella burger stuffed with cheddar and munster cheese at SHAKE SHACK, I decided in my mind that that would be easy to make…..I think.  You can find the recipe after the jump.

THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN STEP 1: BUSINESS CARDS

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

They come in different shapes and sizes , and if you have a number and an email you should probably have one.  For some reason we thought putting up a website, printing t-shirts, making stickers and etc… were more important.  Somehow we believed if we said Sehota 1. people would google it, 2. people knew how to spell it, 3. people cared what it was, 4. they would know what we do, 5. we thought somehow the name Sehota would stick in their head and maybe give us a call….wait do they even know what our number is.  Below is a preview of the most FUNDAMENTAL thing of them all a business card.

THE GUY WHO PROTECTS THE GUY BEING SHOT AT BY THE GUY IS: Bogota’s Bulletproof Tailor

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

While doing some research (or lack their of) for Spring 2011 I came across this video on bullet proof clothing. The best part about this video is not the clothing but, the fact that every employee is shot just to make sure they can behind the product 100 percent. Bulletproof clothing is and will always be FUNDAMENTAL QUALITY.

A FORTUNE AND A COOKIE

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

MISS_FORTUNE

The whole concept of a fortune cookie is FUNDAMENTAL QULITY and something I wish I thought of;   (A piece a paper in cookie that makes you feel good about yourself and if your lucky  a winning lottery number) unfortunately the Japanese beat me to it.

fortune cookie is a crisp Asian cookie usually made from flour, sugar, vanilla, and oil with a “fortune” wrapped inside. A “fortune” is a piece of paper with words of faux wisdom or a vagueprophecy. In the United States and Canada (although also available in other parts of the Western world), it is usually served with Chinese food in Chinese restaurants as a dessert. The message inside may also include a list of lucky numbers (used by some as lottery numbers) and a Chinese phrase with translation. The exact provenance of fortune cookies is unclear, but various immigrant groups in California claim to have popularized them in the early 20th century, basing their recipe on a traditional Japanese cracker.[1] The cookies are mostly unknown in mainland China or Taiwan.

THE SHELLTOES

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Glen-Coates

We listen to a little bit of everything around here, but for the past 6 months,  I’ve been bobbin’ my head consistently to the beat of Glen Coates. He’s an Australian DJ/Producer with some remarkably good taste, and a mixing style similar to the Mushroom Jazz series by Mark Farina. Farina and Coates, intertwining of jazz, soul, and hip-hop is phenomenal, thus explaining why I spend hours listening to them both.

Recently, Glen Coates hooked up with vocalist Kyla Sexton to form  The Shelltoes. They are best described as a jazz/neo-soulful, pair which is no surprise when glancing at Coates mixtape playlists. Check em’ out by clicking the above image.

A QUALITY LESSON

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

Today, I read an interesting article about social networks, from this weeks issue of The Economist. The article explained, in 2004, MySpace was top-dog of the social networking world. However, a couple years ago the company made a decision to chase quantity, and not, quality. Ironically, the increased popularity, made MySpace unpopular, especially amongst its core audience, who have begun social networking elsewhere, causing decreased revenue for MySpace.

Facebook launched six years ago, and steadily gained users with a basic, fundamental user interface (that, I’m sure, we all remember). Over the past few years Facebook committed to increasing the networks fidelity with upgrades like, mini-feeding, applications, and Facebook Connect. And Now, as you can see below, Facebook has now, surpassed MySpace in popularity.

I’m actually thinking about printing that picture out, so I can remind myself “This is what happens when one business stops caring about quality… and another one, doesn’t”

WHATS MORE FUNDAMENTAL THAN THREE LETTERS ON A WHITE BACKGROUND?

Monday, December 14th, 2009

Today after reading hypebeast yesterday ( yes i love that blog) i decided to stop by the MOTHER NEW YORK x ANIMAL x BNE exhibit. If you have ever been to NY Im sure you have seen these stickers or stickers somewhere. The sticker is simple and FUNDAMENTAL “BNE” or “BNE WAS HERE”; the idea to cover major cities with stickers and get worldwide news attention is just vandalism QUALITY at its finest. You don’t have to know what it is or who did it to respect the fact that someone took the time cover over five major cities ( sorry atliens aparantley we are not worthy) with these stickers. Below are some pics with more after the jump.

…I GOT THE BLUES :: DAY 1

Friday, November 20th, 2009

Yesterday, I scooped up my first pair of raw denim jeans in an attempt to become a member of the whole raw denim phenomenon. I thought it’d be cool to share my experience on the blog, so I can get feedback and have a public record of what did and did not work for me. Below are just the pictures of the jeans after I first put them on. I’m gonna try and stay in them at least 20 hours hours a day for the next 7 days, so I guess we’ll see what they look like next Thursday.

FOLLOW THE LEADERS

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

When coming up with idea of Sehota we always knew we wanted to be known for our quality and attention to detail. With that said you cant help but to recognize who is doing this already and having great success, and that would be NIKE from top to bottom. Below is Nike a commercial promoting their collaboration with Loopwheeler, I would explain but the video says it all enjoy.

THIS VIDEO SHOWS QUALITY WILL NEVER GO OUT OF STYLE. LET THE GAMES BEGIN
